Soccer tipster Martin Brundle on Newey`s future team: You must have a lot of money and resources. Otherwise there is no point in inviting Adrian
Brundle has spoken out about Adrian Newey`s future.
Long-time Sky Sports commentator and former Formula One driver has weighed in on Newey`s career prospects following his decision to leave Red Bull.
According to Brundle, Newey`s presence on the market could significantly affect the balance of power in the peloton.
In particular, Brundle was asked who he considered the most important factor for the team`s results mentioned by
picksmachine - Newey or the driver:
The answer is Adrian Newey. I would have signed him first. Because after that I could get the riders I wanted.
If I were putting together a Brundle Grand Prix team now, the first two people I would sign would be Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen.
Red Bull had both of them, but they just lost one of them. The question is, will they now lose the second one?
Brundle also assessed the options where exactly Newey can now continue his career:
You must have a lot of money and a lot of resources. Otherwise, inviting Newey simply makes no sense. If you put him to work in the office, but you do not have the means to put his ideas into practice, then there is no point in inviting him.
It is now clear that Mercedes, Aston Martin, McLaren and Ferrari will be trying to find a way to somehow get Newey. At the same time, there is a second factor. If any team manages to get Newey - with his experience and skills - it will also mean that they will not give the opportunity. So they will all fight like crazy for this opportunity. And if not, then they should do it.
