The former Barcelona defender is suspected of sexual assault.


The woman told the Generalitat de Catalunya Mossos d`Esquadra police that she was harassed by 39-year-old Dani Alves at the Sutton club on Tuset Street in Barcelona.

After this, the frightened lady warned her friends, and they passed on the information to the employees responsible for security in the hall of the establishment. And the city`s protocol against assault and sexual harassment in private nightclubs went into effect.


As ABC sources note, the woman was very nervous and was not left alone. The lady and her friends were moved to a safe place, and those in charge of security notified the Catalan police, after which their officers arrived at the scene.


When the victim spoke about what happened, the alleged perpetrator had already left the premises. Representatives of the football player`s entourage, contacted by ABC, deny the facts of sexual violence. They claim that the information is false, despite the fact that Alves was actually at the said establishment. He was there for a short time and nothing happened.


Catalan police have launched an investigation following reports of an alleged act of sexual violence at a nightclub. The victim underwent a medical examination at a Barcelona hospital and police officers took a statement from her.


The incident occurred on December 30, early in the morning. Alves, who previously played for the Brazilian national team at the World Cup in Qatar, arrived in Barcelona on holiday before New Year`s.
