Soccer tip Yuki Tsunoda: Could have reached 1st place in Brazil without red flags
Tsunoda complained about untimely red flags in Brazil. RB driver Yuki Tsunoda suggested that he would have become the leader of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix if the race had not been interrupted.
The Japanese rider started third, and shortly before the red flags he switched to rain tires, after which, together with his teammate Liam Lawson, he was the fastest in the peloton.
I think what we did - switching to rain tires - was a good decision. The safety car and red flags just appeared and at that moment everything went wrong. If the red flags had not been shown, perhaps I would have overtaken many cars and maybe would have come out on top, but the situation did not work out in our favor.
Conditions were difficult. If you lose concentration, the consequences are huge. I enjoyed the last stint, we had a good fight with Oscar [Piastri]. I tried to stay ten seconds away [to take advantage of Piastri`s penalty]. You know, a lot of mistakes could have been made, but I drove a clean race and tried to earn seventh place - this is a good result, " Yuki said.
Journalist Benson: Whiting agreed in 2011 that changing tires under red flags was not very fair, but nothing happened
The race in Brazil was legendary: Verstappen won from 17th, two Alpins on the podium
